Can Not See My Server But Others Can
Firewall lockout explanation:
If you are not able to see your website but others can, chances are you tripped the server firewall.
The server firewall is there to protect you from being hacked and repells hundreds of hackers every
day without you knowing.
It is possible one of your programs on your computer is mirroring the pattern of an attack and the
firewall took action. This can happen if a program pings or logs on badly over and over, etc. There
may even be programs running on your computer that are attempting connections that you are not aware of.
This is a common problem.
How do I solve it?:
Goto this website:
http://whatismyip.net
there you will see a number, called an IP address, displayed (looks like 123.45.33.214). This
is the IP address of your computer connection to the internet. Relay this number to us and
let us know that you think you are locked out of the firewall. Our staff will then whitelist
this address for you and flush the firewall, which should give you access back.
Solving this problem permanently
Doing the above step will whitelist your computer, however, some Internet
Service Providers change your computer's IP address every day. So if you
run into this again, you need to take action on what is causing the issue
in the first place.
As said above, this happens when a program on your computer or local
network tries to access your server badly or in a strange way which
mirrors an attack. This firewall protection can't be disabled because
it would lead to your site and the entire server getting hacked.
Try uninstalling old internet programs and update
them to the latest versions. Make sure a program is not logging in
like crazy. Check your processes to see if something is running that
shouldn't be. Maybe there is an old email box definition which you
no longer use that keeps trying to login. Etc.
